The atmosphere in cities across the UK is changing. Rising pollution levels, largely a result of car emissions, are becoming a problem. The pollutants in the air can cause damage to buildings, altering their appearance, and leaving them stained and unsightly. This is not so good if you want your business to have a warm and welcoming appearance. In addition, the damage could become a much bigger issue if the impact on buildings is left unchecked and untreated.

Clearly, pollution is a big factor, but it is not the only thing that poses a threat to our architecture, both ancient and modern. The famously fickle nature of the British weather means our buildings are exposed to frequently changing temperatures, heavy rain, blustery wind and occasional lengthy spells of sunshine. Dampness is notoriously damaging for stonework and brickwork, and humidity can also take its toll.
